Project Management November 2007 - Current, Mitratech Holdings Inc., Los Angeles CA (work out of Omaha NE)

Responsible for project planning an implementation of TeamConnect at corporate legal departments at Fortune 100 companies. TeamConnect is legal case management software that is used by corporate legal departments to help them manage their legal cases. It is a web based application that deals with highly sensitive information. I am responsible for Project Planning, business requirements analysis, making software modification, system implementations, and understanding our software internals to understand what kinds of cusomtization can be implemented. Specific clients I have worked with include: Allstate insurance and Colgate-Palmolive. To accomplish this I have worked with internal business analysts, customer project teams, and third-party consulting companies. I have also had to make presentation so senior management for our clients.


Manager Web Delivery Team and Image Solutions Technology April 2004 – November 2007, First National Bank of Omaha, Omaha NE

Responsible for Web site design and content for the companies 70 Internet web sites and all Intranet web sites. I manage a team of 17 people with a diverse set of skills: web designers, content developers, human factors, information architects and programmers. We worked on different kinds of projects such as new web site designs, simple content updates, flash, video, and conducting usability studies to build the best site possible. I was responsible for bringing in new technology and tools such as Google Analytics, Google search engine appliance, Nutch/Lucene search technology, and Web content management tools like Teamsite, OpenDeploy, and MediaBin from Interwoven. Additionally I managed a team of 6 developers that built credit card dispute case management software on top of FileNet imaging and workflow technology.

Senior Systems Software Engineering Feb 2003 - April 2004, Baldwin, Hackett & Meeks Inc., Omaha, NE

Project Management for Web based Health and Wellness application. Involved in business requirements definition, technical and system specifications and implementation using Java and J2EE technology on the WebSphere platform. Also participated as developer using C++ for advanced messaging system to route weather messages at the FAA.

Director of Software Engineering October 1999 – Feb 2003, Nexterna, Omaha, NE

Responsible for all software development, strategy and architecture. This includes mobile software strategies to enable wireless business applications including design of our next generation wireless software. Responsible for design of next generation wireless middleware (OptiPath). This wireless middleware provides a layer of isolation between applications and specific wireless protocols. This middleware will pick the best network based on business rules. In addition to being responsible for development and the construction of the infrastructure necessary for the company to deploy Internet and Web Applications. The job also includes all hiring to build a team, managing assignments, and tracking progress as well as helping with any technical designs or issues that may arrive. Overall environment includes wireless software systems, server processing, mobile communications software, and Internet based applications.

Development Manager (design/architecture and some coding) for the release of the OptiTrac Product, a GIS/Tracking application, which utilized the Java Environment (1.2 and 1.3) using Java Applets, EJB's, and JMS. OptiTrac gives an office worker a GIS/Map interface for tracking and managing all of their Mobile Resources.

Built and designed the OptiForm which is a wireless forms generation and processing system built using Java and XML technologies. OptiMessage product, which provides for wireless Text Messaging, OptiEmail for wireless Email and OptiWeb to enable, wireless Web Browsing.

Designed our JMS based Wireless Gateway System, which is responsible for all message based communications to/from all wireless devices. Allows server side programmer to encapsulate all their business logic in Message Driven Beans and provides for separation of the business logic from the wireless middleware system.

Built Web infrastructure utilizing ColdFusion and Spectra for Web Content.

Built Java Applets, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), JMS, and Servlet infrastructure utilizing WebLogic Application Server.

Team Leader – Web Technology Group 1995-October 1999, Union Pacific Railroad, Omaha, NE

Started public Web site in 1994. Built Extranet environment for Union Pacific Railroad and Web environment for 8 subsidiaries of the Union Pacific Corporation. Won an award in 1997 for top 50 business web site by CIO Magazine.

Responsible for setting standards and guidelines for Website by leading cross-functional Website Steering Team.

Built the Web Technology Group to manage the Web environment, guidelines, standards, and select/evaluate Web development tools.

Ported DOS/Windows dial-up software for customers to the Web.

Built first interactive Web application using Java Servlets to IBM Mainframe. Designed GUI interface and infrastructure necessary to get data from IBM mainframe.

Built re-usable Java class libraries to make it easier for developers to build Java Web applications. This provides a base set of objects that Servlet developer’s start with. Integrated a Metrics Gathering System, which allows monitoring of all applications and their internal performance (built using Java RMI).

Lead effort to convert Web applications to Tuxedo messaging.

Developed applications using Java, ColdFusion, Tuxedo and some Perl.

Lead education effort of Web Technology Group to ensure that senior management and other departments were appraised of technology available to them and our customers.

Worked on business reengineering project to accelerate mortgage application process from 60 days to 4 days.

Researched Workflow automation systems for use across several projects.

Helped design a data archiving system using C and Informix.

Systems Engineer 1989-1993, Northwest Airlines, Minneapolis MN

Worked on Passenger Revenue Accounting system.

Build reusable application logging system, password synchronization process, and checkpoint/restart structures.

Supported and built imaging/OCR system for scanning airline tickets which were then processed through the Passenger Revenue Accounting system. Used FileNet imaging system with Sun Microsystems servers.

Programmer, Systems Support, Operating Systems Development 1983-1989, Sperry Univac/Unisys, FL, NJ, MN

OS 1100 systems development for MCB (Message Control Bank) which is the internal message architecture of the Operating System. Served as 2nd level product support. Helped develop first UNIX based software to allow remotely loading Communication servers (CMS).

Responsible for on-site support at BellCore (Bell Labs before the break-up) of the MCB (Message Control Bank).

Worked on COBOL conversion project to move systems from one database product to another database product.
