Hydroculture is a way to grow plants without using soil. Instead of soil,
clay pebbles are used which provide structure so the plant can hold itself
upright and provides aeration for the roots. The plant gets all its nutrients
from the water reservoir which is mixed with a water soluable fertilizer.
Here's a great
description of the Hydroculture system and another one.
Hydroculture makes growing house plants easy. If you've never been
able to grow house plants then try this system. Its great! I have been using
Hydroculture systems for over 8 years now. Here are some of the best sites to
get more info. I purchased all my Hydroculture plants and kits (yes - you can
easily convert dirt plants to hydroculture) from Fensmore Inc. in Apopka FL
(407-886-2367).

any I have missed!).
